Our 10 Year
Fundraising Pledge to
Sky High for Kids is
$1 Million.
In 2010, the founding members came together to help a friend who was struggling from the untimely and unexpected death of his wife. They sent him on a fishing trip for the weekend and when he returned home, they had built a bar in his garage. They began having “Steak Night” every Thursday (a tradition that still stands to this day), where they would bar-b-que, have a few drinks, and tell some tall tells. They started small, sponsoring kids participating in athletic programs with money from their own pockets. As the number of steak night attendees grew, so did the need to help. This group of friends realized they had the ability to put on a great event and make a difference. So, when someone suggested they become a non-profit, they began the process, and The Dewville Social Club was born.
Fifteen years later, here we are in the midst of a $1MM pledge to pediatric cancer and thousands of Texas youths impacted. Won’t you join us?

This 🙌 We will always support our community.Every year when the La Vernia Junior Livestock Show rolls around, I’m reminded all over again why I am so incredibly blessed to have grown up — and to still raise my family — in this community. And every year I tell myself I’m going to sit down and write this post... and then life happens. But this year, I don’t want it to pass without writing this post.![]()

There truly is no other hometown or county livestock show that has buyers who show up the way La Vernia does. If you talk to parents across Texas who have kids showing at other local and county shows, you’ll quickly realize how uncommon this level of support really is — what happens here is special. It’s rare. It’s generous beyond measure.![]()

Our buyers don’t just raise their hands at an auction. They invest in our kids. They invest in work ethic, responsibility, grit, and character. They sit for hours at the LVJLS auction year after year, not for recognition or applause, but simply because that’s what this community does — we show up for our own.![]()

Both of my kids have been recipients of this generosity year after year, and I can never fully express what that means to our family. You have supported their hard work. You have validated their early mornings, long evenings, setbacks, lessons learned, and goals achieved. You’ve reminded them that their community sees them and believes in them.![]()

So today, I want to intentionally recognize the buyers who were so generous to my own children during the 2025 livestock show. Your kindness often goes without public recognition because giving back is simply woven into who you are — but please know it does not go unnoticed in our home. We are deeply grateful. ![]()
